Morristown LL (Tennessee) is 2007 LLSoftball Champ!

The 2007 Little League Softball World Series is in the books...And what a fantastic championship game to end the tournament!

Tonight's final game lived up to its billing: when two undefeated teams meet, something has to give. Both South (Morristown LL, Tennessee) and Southwest (Elgin LL, Texas) sailed through Pool Play and yesterday's semi-final games giving ESPN2 commentators plenty of great softball to talk about. In the end, the South team prevailed 3-2 in the best LLSBWS Championship Game I have ever seen.

Thanks to the young athletes who play Little League Softball -- it is for you that dozens of volunteers work year 'round to present you with an amazing experience as you cap off a signature summer of softball.

Congratulations to all the girls and their families/fans who made it to Portland, Oregon, for this exciting week of play and activities in the Northwest. We are honored to have had you here -- please come back and visit and be sure to say HI!

Congratulations to Morristown!
TN has some great softball and we here in Marshall County have had some great games with you. I was a coach on the team that won the state championship when we had to come through the loser's bracket to beat you, as Haley Fagan pitched a masterpiece for us. Haley's dad, David Fagan, who was our manager, commented after that game that he thought you had a team that could win it all!! We lost to Virginia in Florida and they went on to win the World Series that year. We are so proud that a TN team, and especially one that we have had some great fun with has won it all. Again, congratulations !!

Why does LL play on grass infields? No other fastpitch girl's softball leagues or organizations do this...high school and college don't do this, it totally changes the game.
LL is great publicity for softball, but to be honest the game is played much better by ASA club teams Kudos to the winners, but I'd put 12U ASA up against any of them and ASA would blow them away. LL is mid-level softball at best.
